Knit Sweaters Needed for Penguins

In New Zealand, a knit shop has put out a call to knitters to knit sweaters for wildlife that has been affected by the oil spill. The idea is to keep the penguins warm until they can be scrubbed down and to prevent them from ingesting the oil while they preen.

If you are interested in knitting a sweater for a penguin to donate, please click on the link below. (I wish I knew how to knit but it's on a long list of crafts that I don't know how to do)

May is Geeky Crafts Month!

I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I didn't know May was Geeky Crafts month, being that I am both a crafter and a geek ☺

Here are a few of my favorite geeky crafts to celebrate this fun month -

Digitalsoaps on Etsy created this XBox controller out of soap! Also available in Playstation controllers, with multiple colors and scents. Be sure to stop by their store for more...

This Dr. Who scarf pattern is so popular that it has its own website!

This set of amigurumi Firefly cast dolls is too cute for words. Made by artoo1121 - featured on Craftster.

And finally - adorable little ball mittens to turn your baby into a real-life Wii character. Find out how to make them from Knitty.com.

How are you celebrating Geeky Crafts Month?
